In 2016, Virgin Atlantic Airways took their plans to inspire the next generation of Pilots and Engineers a great leap forward by sponsoring young people keen to experience flight.
Awarded a Free Gliding Scholarship by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, young people a learned how to take off, fly and land aircraftt at airfields across the country - gliding at 1000's of feet every day for a week. No Slenky shot-taker had flown before but any nerves shown before the first flight were quickly replaced by adrenaline and pride, and as soon as the first flight was over they were up again.
We got some astonishing feedback so this year Slenky ran the shot again - courtesy of the Honourable Company - and in June 2017 Myles got his Shot.
An interesting thing about Myles is that was he was pretty much being written off. So... being an RAF Cadet... he decided to follow his Passion...
