New City College Group, as it is now collectively known, will support around 15,000 students and apprentices each year, and will be financially robust with a turnover of £67m.

A new group visual identity will be rolled out alongside local campus names in the coming months. In the true spirit of further education, students were given the opportunity to develop the new group corporate identity.

A group logo with borough-based variations designed by 22 year-old Redbridge graphic design HND student Ashley Butcher was selected, and will be seen across high profile signage and publicity materials for many years to come.

Ashley said: “A project like this is really strong for my design portfolio. It was a great experience to work on. To know that my design will be the new identity for the college is amazing.”

Group Principal and CEO Gerry McDonald said: “The new identity will definitely help the New City College group to stand out within the sector. It reflects the great young talent of FE college students.”
