At the end of this year we will be celebrating our third year in business and I look back in glee at how far I have come since Kallure came into conception.  I started the business for three reasons.

The first being the transformation of the PR landscape, and how much the digital space has impacted the industry. The second was frustration, having worked in PR/Communications for many years I noticed a disconnect with the major agencies leading the marketspace and the people who spearheaded them. During my time, having worked in-house and at an agency, I recognised that there were huge communities that were not being communicated with effectively, and there was an opportunity to bridge this gap.

Finally, my last reason was business equity.

Becoming a mother changed my outlook on a number of things, therefore I wanted to ensure that I was present in the early stages of my daughter’s life, as well as create a foundation for her future. I wanted to create economic equity for generations to come, and create leadership opportunities for young black women who are looking to enter into the digital business space.

If you had to describe me in three words I would say Passionate, Focused and Resilient.

I am the Founder and Managing Director of Kallure. A 360-degrees communications agency that offers services across communications, strategy and influencer marketing. I run the day-to-day operations of the business, from client facing, project management to administration. I’m never too scared to roll up my sleeves and get to work!  Our aim is to help brands find their authentic voice, using the beauty of knowledge to craft meaningful stories that connect to diverse audiences:

1) Position Kallure to be the go-to independent collaborative agency for diverse content

2) Build strong authentic relationships and grow networks across key stakeholder groups, media, policy makers, brands, clients, and talent

3) Become a leading and trusted voice in the industry for market insight and diversity, not just as a business, but reflected in the talent we look after

Through collaboration and dedication I want to grow Kallure into an international agency recognised on a global scale.

When the opportunity arose for me to be based at Slenky's new HQ, 'TYS Studios', I was beyond exhilarated. I’ve moved into the Studios to be part of a wider network and community. Being in an environment where you are surrounded by fellow entrepreneurs is inspiring. It opens room for opportunities, and allows you to build an alliance outside of your conventional norms.

Now that Kallure finally has a permanent home to work from, it gives us the opportunity to focus on scaling the company and building the team.  Currently, we are working on a number of areas to really take Kallure to the next level and in the future we aim to work with a variety of businesses across multiple sectors, and with individuals who align with our vision.

What makes Kallure unique, is that we are solving three key areas through our 360 service: Representation, Independence and Authenticity. So far it has been a rollercoaster of growth and development and, although we are still in the first three years of the business, I am very humbled by the wins we’ve achieved. From looking after the PR of Europe’s largest distributor of Afro hair and beauty products, to securing placements in the national media for our clients.

A recent success I am proud of was being awarded the BEO F100 Investment fund supported by SKY. Out of over 500 businesses who applied, we were one of the few companies that was selected to receive the funding.

This is only the beginning of our successes and we are excited to see what 2023 has in store for us.
